Proust Magazine
In the first volume of Proust, Editor in Chief Julia Rubin introduces the concept of the "Proust Effect," drawing from Marcel Proust's "Swann’s Way." Rubin explains how Proust's experience of eating a Madeleine cookie and drinking tea evokes vivid memories of his childhood, similar to how certain songs or scents can transport us back to specific moments in our lives. Over the past two years, Proust Magazine has captured our community's essence, uniting students in the creation of a tangible print medium. It features stories from Harrisonburg's local businesses and highlights from our peers, preserving memories and experiences.
